Wow! What a news for Today. Google Cloud VMware Engine just announced that vSAN Stretched Cluster is generally available. This means that from Today onwards customers can leverage stretched clusters in their production environment.

After returning from VMware Explore 2022 from Barcelona I am very pleased and happy. There are multiple reasons to that which I explain in later part of the post.

A few weeks ago I was asked by a colleague from Google Cloud VMware Engine specialists team if I would be interrested in co-hosting a VMware Explore session in Barcelona. As GCVE is close to my heart and I never had such an opportunity to be a VMworld / VMware Expplore speaker so I took the chance.

In June 2022 Google announced that all customers will be able to use VMware HCX Enterprise. In this post I’ll share some more information and why it is a big deal.

VMware Workstation and later on VMware Fusion (once I moved to macOS from Windows) were one of the first VMware products I used in my virtualization journey. It’s functionality, price attractiveness, rapid release cycles and close proximity to other Google Cloud Products allowed to gain many happy customers and users. In Today’s post I will show you how to configure Google Cloud VMware Engine and how to start using it.

As every Year VMware opened vExpert Applications and you can as well apply until January 14th 2022. There is more than two weeks more to apply so don’t wait until the deadline and visit VMware vExpert Portal.

In May 2020 Google announced general availability of Google Cloud VMware Engine, Google’s first party VMware as a Service offering.

In this post I’d like to introduce you to the service, its unique features and why in a first place you should care about it at all :)

As you know I am working for Google Cloud where based on my experience and knowledge I have a lot of to do with customers who have VMware on-premises. Naturally this ties perfectly with Google Cloud VMware Engine - Google’s VMware as a Service offering. My customers always have a great concern about Backup & Disaster Recovery topics and I am really happy that VMware announced General Availability of VMware flagship Disaster Recovery solution VMware Site Recovery Manager.
