In this post Failed to deploy OVF package – quick error fix I will show you what can cause this error and what steps have to be taken in oder to fix it.
As I am preparing myself to VCP6-NV exam and I wanted to deploy NSX in my home lab. After downloading NSX binaries naturally I wanted to deploy OVF package. I tried it several times (vSS, vDS) and it was still not working. Below is the error I got.
The cause was very simple. When I wanted to deploy OVF package ESXi hostname was not resolvable.
Quick fix is to simply add entries in hosts file on my Windows PC. After changing hosts file OVF package (in my case NSX Manager) was successfully deployed.
